5 More Fun Secrets of Disney World’s Epcot

5 More Fun Secrets of Disney World’s Epcot

Posted on 29. Nov, 2009 by Donald Duck in EPCOT

1. The world’s largest working digital camera is in the “Imagination!” pavilion. After your ride with Figment you’ll enter a play place sponsored by Kodak.  The giant digital camera is one of the first things you’ll see and if your lucky you may get your picture taken.

2. In the World Showcase, the Morocco pavilion is the only one that doesn’t light up during ‘Illuminations’ (the nightly fireworks extravaganza.)

If you stay in Epcot to watch Illuminations, look toward the Morocco pavilion. Twice during the fireworks show, the World Showcase pavilions are outlined with strings of lights – all but Morocco. The Moroccan government requested that they not be illuminated because the buildings they represent have great religious significance.

3.  There are 2 water rides in the World Showcase. One is in Mexico and the other is in Norway. A third was planned for Germany but never built.  The building next to the Biergarten Restaurant was supposed to be the entrance to the German water ride.

4.  Also in Epcot’s Germany – check out the miniature village with the railroad.  The level of detail is extraordinary and the details are changed throughout the year to reflect the seasons.

5. Check out the clock in the tower above the USA pavilion.  The Roman numeral for 4 o’clock reads IIII where it should be IV. That error is common to colonial timepieces and was created deliberately.
