How does Tokyo Disneyland compare to the other Disney parks?

I am planning to visit Tokyo Disneyland with some friends later this year and was wondering how it compared to the others?
I went to Disneyland Paris about 8 years ago when I was 11 and loved it but haven’t been to the parks in America yet.
Is it Tokyo Disneyland definitely worth visiting if I’m in Japan? Or would it be worth maybe giving it a miss and going to a different theme park while I’m over there? I’d be really grateful for any answers.

Just my opinion, but I preferred Tokyo Disney Sea. Tokyo Disneyland is good … but it’s an amusement park with the usual rides. Tokyo Disney Sea was more creative and there’s more to do if you’re older. So, in my opinion: skip Disneyland and go to Tokyo Disney Sea.

I’ve heard that both of the Tokyo Disney theme parks (Magic Kingdom & DisneySea) are superb.

Originally, Tokyo Disneyland was a duplicate of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, when it opened in April of 1983.
However, in the passing years, The Oriental Land Company, who actually “owns” Tokyo Disneyland, has had the money to expand it’s Park in a way that the other Disney Parks have not.
Plus, with the addition of the DisneySea park, Tokyo Disneyland Resort has become a very unique Disney destination.

Tokyo Disneyland is pretty cool. The Disney Sea was far more interesting, but if you have never been to Tokyo before then skip Disney. There are so many other cool places to check out just in Tokyo.
