why didn’t any of the disney princesses turn into a queen?

Why would anyone want to be a princess? Queens are where it’s at! They get so much power in a monarchy, especially if they’re not married. Is disney trying to promote the idea that women shouldn’t have power?

Most Disney movies are aimed at kids, not at Moms; therefore their main characters stay as princess and not assuming a complete adult role as a queen would.
However, there are exceptions:
* in the sequel to the Little Mermaid you see Ariel as a queen and her daughther as a new princess.
* In the movie “Princess of Thieves” the daugter of Robin Hood takes the lead when her father is arrested.
* In Beauty and the Beast, although the Beast is presented as a Prince, there is no King over him in the castle. He is the King of that castle, so technically Belle becomes the queen.
* In the sequel to Peter Pan it is the daughter of Wendy who saves Peter from Hook,
* Mulan is another example of a young woman taking charge, it is her who defeats the villian, not Chang the general.
Bottom line, Disney is not trying to promote the idea that women shouldn’t have power. On the contrary.
There are many Disney movies where you see brave independent young women taking charge and behaving like
