Become Ariel The Little Mermaid For Halloween

Ariel is the main character in the Walt Disney animated movie, “The Little Mermaid.” This Disney film is based on the fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen that had the same title. Ariel is a 16-year-old mermaid princess who longs to become part of the human world and habitually goes to the ocean surface to get a glimpse of humans and collect human artifacts. She falls in love with Prince Eric whom she saved from drowning. The prince recalls her lovely voice and vows to search for her.
King Triton, Ariel’s father, disapproves of Ariel’s love for the human prince but the mermaid princess goes to the sea witch, Ursula, for help. Ursula transforms Ariel’s tail into a pair of legs but in exchange, she loses her voice that is magically trapped in a locket worn by Ursula. Ursula disguises herself into a beautiful girl and casts a spell on Eric and they almost get married. Various animals help Ariel in breaking Ursula’s locket that releases Ursula spell’s on Eric and her contract with Ariel. Eric kills Ursula and King Triton uses his magic to transform Ariel into a human being so that they finally can marry.
The Little Mermaid costume is a favorite of many children and women during Halloween. This is due to the appeal of the mythical character who is half fish and half woman who lives under the sea and has an attractive voice. The costume for children is usually composed of a bikini top and a skirt while the midriff is uncovered. For adults, the midriff is often covered by a thin fabric with skin tones. Sometimes seashells cover the bikini top. Accessories that can be worn with the Little Mermaid costume are seashell bracelets and necklaces and flat white shoes or silver slippers.
The usual color for both bikini top and skirt is blue-green and the fabric is shiny and scaly-like. Adults should make sure that the bikini top does not place them in an awkward position if they bend forwards or raise their hands. It is also common for those wearing the Little Mermaid costume to wear a wig of red flowing hair and a tiara or headband. A significant part of the costume is the tail. This is usually provided by sewing extra fabric on both sides of the bottom part of the skirt and cut is such a way that they resemble a fish’s tail.
