Vacation Education destination Epcot

$14.99

Take your family on a virtual trip around the world. This book is more than a what to see and where to stay touring plan; it is the guide book that will bring the exhibits to life for you and your children. Take your family on a trip to Norway to see the Viking ship, but first study Viking history. Did you know that the Norwegian king was given the Gospel on a trip to England, which led to the end of the Viking era. But, what would the worlds greatest shipbuilders and sailors do for a living if they weren’t Vikings? They used their skills to build churches, some of which are still standing today. An example of a Stave church can be seen in the Norwegian pavilion. Take your family on a trip to Mexico and shop for your favorite pinata in the marketplace, but first study the history of this game. Spanish missionaries arrived to find the Mayans playing a game that they then used to help illustrate Biblical truths. Did you know? Try it! Get into hands on activities while making pretzels together (recipe included), while you study German foods, then try even more authentic recipes at the Biergarten. Moms: Use this book of unit studies to impress dad. It was researched and written by a Christian home schooling family and would be a great asset to any curriculum, with or without a visit to Epcot (although that would be a world class field trip to top off the school year). Dads: Buy this book for yourself and read it before you go. Impress your family with your expertise in every pavilion! Then, you can pass the book on to the kids when you get home from your vacation, so they can do the hundreds of activities in this guide book, and learn even more. Not only will they learn more, the vacation experience will be extended throughout the year, as you say, remember when we saw this?… let’s learn more about that. >>Read More

This song is on the double CD set from Disney called “The happiest celebration on earth”….along with other songs from rides that are no longer in the parks. I listen to those CD’s almost everyday.

I agree 100%! I miss the ghost chariot, the old narrator, and the pretty gleaming city and other scenes at the end also! Don’t like this new ride nearly as much.

Like everyone else, I hate the new ending. It’s such nonsense. I get goosebumps from watching video of the old compared to actually being in the new. The biggest changes of course, being the horrid new narration, and the even more horrid ending. I miss a few of the little things too, like the hologram chariot in the Rome scene. I always liked that little guy.

omg the new ending is so horrible :/ I almost cried when I rode it…They try to make everything for little kids now or something. When I was 5 years old I would ride this ride all the time and I loved it how it was. The corniness of the new thing is horrible :( Walt Disney would be disgusted

i along with the rest of you was devastated when i heard that they essentially made this into an entirely new ride. my dad works for AT&T and we would always look forward to riding this (since the ride was sponsored by AT&T we would get “VIP” access). the last time i was at epcot was 2-3 years ago and I went on this ride three times in a row about 15 minutes before epcot closed. im glad i did after seeing the new version. it will live in my memory forever!

Because the Mickey wand never belonged there in the first place. It wasn’t there when the park opened in 82. It was just too big of a distraction from the beautiful architectural marvel that is Spaceship Earth.

This has been my favorite ride for years. I was completely devasted when I heard the new version. Luckily I had the old theme music on my mp3 player and played it while I descended back down. Nothing against Dame Judy Dench, but the ride has taken a turn in the wrong direction.

Rode it yesterday and now am crestfallen. It has been “updated” from a moving, human, deeply thoughtful ending to a vapid ephemeral laugh as folks see themsleves in the cartoons. Whee.

Seems another case of corporate stuffedsuits (as some folks here seem to be saying it is $iemens fault) not understanding true substance, and dumbing things down to a vapid and ephemeral laughvertisement.

    Sad.

Probably won’t do any good, but I will be writing a letter to voice my displeasure.

I went to Epcot last night and I just noticed that the “Epcot” sign and Mickey’s hand and wand on the ball is gone. Why’d they take those out?
