Snow White is European (the original Snow White story is of Germanic roots). Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella are also European (Cinderella comes from a German/Old European folktale). Belle is French because in the first song in the animation the villagers are greeting each other with "Bonjour!" As for Ariel, she lives under the sea. She could be Atlantean.
