You're parents now. Take a break from this for a few years!

Wait until your son and any other children you'll have are old enough to know what's going on, be able to stay awake, be able to go on a lot of the rides and shows, be able to walk around on their own (even if you do use Disney strollers)...youngest about ~5...out of diapers. Kids that young will just get cranky, if they don't sleep through everything. If the baby can stay awake, he will be scared of the dark rides, cry in the theaters and disturb the others.

Mickey's Very Merry is a night-time thing, babies should be in bed!

Umm...You have been there "every year"; don't you already know all the rides?

the small kids cant really ride the rides, and thats quite on the young side. go into fantasyland and thats your best bet but its extremely crowded there the first time. the kid would have more fun going into animal kingdpm and looking at animals or doing things of the observing nature...not so much riding rides.

He can ride anything you ride EXCEPT I wouldn't take him on any of the coasters! Pretty much any ride that has the warning sign out front advising against riding if you're pregnant, have a heart condition, bad back, etc. is probably too rough for the little guy, but there are dozens of rides he can take along with you!

Have a great trip!

We took my daughter to Disney when she was 8 months. Do bring a stroller - don't plan on renting one. Keep in mind that if you're baby is experiencing separation anxiety or stranger anxiety - he/she might be uneasy with costumed characters. We chose 3 character's to have her picture made with (Tigger, Mickey & Minnie). That way we did get a few pics that she smiled for, but didn't overwhelm her with strange looking characters.

For rides & other stuff - Here's a list of rides & some other stuff you can see with a 9 month old.

Fantasy Land -Peter Pan, Snow White, Winnie The Pooh, & Small World.
Tomorrow Land -Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Carousel of Progress, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (I just let my husband play as we rode through).
Adventureland- Enchanted Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates League, Swiss FamilyTreehouse
Frontierland - Country Bear Jamboree
Liberty Square - Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion (my baby wasn't scared)

We took our son when he was 9 months old and I don't feel like we missed out on anything. Off the top of my head we went on Pirate of the Caribbean, Snow White, Peter Pan, It's a Small World, The Carousel, Haunted Mansion, the Animal Safari boat ride, The Wed Way People Mover. There are a ton of rides you all can go on together, as long as you can hold your son on your lap, you can take him on. Obviously no rides where you need to be strapped in for though. And if you had a calm baby like I did, he may even love the fireworks at night. Have fun, you won't miss out on anything! Consider getting a baby sling, baby Bjorn, something like that so you can carry him most of the time, then it's easier then frequently moving him in and out of the stroller.

It's a Small World
Peter Pan's Flight
Cinderella's Golden Carrousal
Country Bear Jamboree
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
The Enchanted Tiki Room*
Jungle Cruise
The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh
Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor (might be loud)
Snow White's Scary Adventure
Walt Disney's Carrousel of Proggress
Walt Disney World Railroad

*it's dark and there's a sound of thunder which scared me when I was little so you might want to consider that

Whoever said Space Mountain and any of the other mountains is out of their mind. Those are rollercoasters and a flume ride.
